Three Things You Need to Know

  1. Your photo is the centerpiece of your marketing image. A terrific photo makes it much easier to create striking marketing pieces.
  2. Your photo needs to appeal to both your median demographic (agents, presenters, etc...) and ultimate demographic (concert-goers, CD buyers). Remember your images will be used by presenters in ad/direct mail pieces and will ultimately either attract or repel audience members. It is important to analyze both target markets and plan your shoot carefully. Yep, we do that!
  3. Color can be an important part of your photo. Ultimately you want viewers of your photograph to imagine hearing your music by simply looking at your image. Color can help them do this. Are your musical programs passionate, rhythmic, energetic? Then red may be a good color to include.

    Color can also help you connect to various market segments. Hot, bright colors usually appeal to lower-end markets. Deep, rich colors have historically appealed to higher-end markets.
